Cammell Laird appointed Summit Marine Scaffolding to carry out the scaffolding requirements during the Irish Sea Pioneer maintenance visit to the ship yard.
The Irish Sea Pioneer is a jack-up support vessel located off the North Wales coast in the Irish Sea and supports operations within Liverpool Bay.
Due to the nature and scale of this project we got involved early at the planning stage with Cammell Laird and the ISP’s representatives to pool all of our expertise and knowledge from previous projects to plan and facilitate the complex access solutions to the vessel, this included scaffold to all four of the impressive jack up legs and also scaffold in the confined space areas of the brine tanks.
As the works to the jack up legs were very temperature and weather sensitive we designed the scaffold to be encapsulated with heavy duty Shrink wrap to provide a weatherproof work area which included 2no. zipped access windows to each working level for ventilation.
We had a team of our highly skilled and experienced scaffolders available 24 hours a day 7 days a week throughout this project to ensure we were there for any urgent access requirements.
